Screenshot Gallery Added!

Friday, October 19th, 2007

I’ve added a screenshot gallery to the site! It uses webgallery software called TinyWebGallery and I will begin to standardize the src URLs of screenshot images all over the site to this format over the next couple of days, starting with the screenshots in the feed itself.

Music Discussion

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Enterbrain has announced the newest piece of information about RPG Maker VX. As spoken by Toshie:

I’ve been going on about illustrations and game screens for a while now, but right about now I’m gonna throw down some new material!

Just like graphics, a game would be nothing without music. Mr. Hinata Kitagami, Sound Creator, is heading up the BGM arrangement for RPG Maker VX.

I can tell just hearing the name, this man is a Maker Connoisseur.

That’s right! By Kitagami, I mean the creator and man in charge of the BGMs for both RPG Maker Dante 98 and RPG Maker 2000, the legend of the Maker World! In the typical Toshie-style, I christen it Kitagami Sound (arbitrarily), and offer up a cup of water everyday! … sorry, I lied a little there.

This time on Maker, we’ve got a nice little present for you. I want you to listen to the BGM and grin broadly when you think “Oh! This phrase is…!” By all means.

Package Illustration Discussion

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Enterbrain has announced the newest piece of information about RPG Maker VX. As spoken by Toshie:

I’ve been summoned by Director M in order to release a new product I’ve been working on for several days.

As the order was “This is material only available here!”, first I’m going to introduce the Maker’s Face Illustration Package.

The illustrator who has been working on RPG Maker VX’s package illustrations is Yuki Hayabusa.

alt="RMVX Pack" />

Personally, I have this feeling that the Elf girl is going to be really popular, but I wonder just how much?

Incidentally, Arts Kawashima was muttering something like “There aren’t any cat-girls…?”

This “obliqueness” composed illustration is a historical first for the Maker. (!?) If you think about it that way, doesn’t it make it seem even more fresh and exciting?

Starting here I’m going to give some information about a somewhat 0 Track Back. For the sake of security in tracking back to Tskuuru Blog, a confirmation check will be implemented. Because of this, it will take several days to recieve a response after we get a request.

Though we have a number of validated track backs at the present point in time, the truth is that the system has gone a bit awry, something everybody can’t see. We truly apologize for this!

Also, as there’s a possibility for an error to come up when the track back is sent, we’re currently looking into the situation (even if it does come back as an error, it has practically been accepted).

What’s happening, Director M!?

This may prove a disconvenience, but we will be suspending track back applications until the system is restored. We ask that you please wait a while.

Reference Sites, etc.

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Enterbrain has announced the newest piece of information about RPG Maker VX. As spoken by Arts Kawashima:

It’s been a hectic week…

Now that I think about it, I just noticed that VX has had references pages uploaded in various places. I happen to remember creating some public-use material and handing it over to the Publicity Manager without much concern. We were incredibly busy with work at the time…

The company has also instructed us to list these reference pages. We ask your understanding if we leave any out. (The following are honorable mentions)

Famitsu.com

GAME Watch

ASCII

4gamer.net

Happy woman

There’s no quips about the information on “Tskuuru Web” being kind of small. Incidentally, we plan to update “Tsukuuru Web” once a week. We’ll be doing our best there.

By the way, since everyone’s been cramming their blogs with free-use pictures and such, we figured “wouldn’t it be better if we had something like a fan kit?” We’re going to think on that a little. Well, Director M would probably say “if you can release one, then release it”. Speaking of which, I haven’t seen him around today. No wonder we’ve been making progress… I had the feeling somebody was watching me, so he must be around here today.

Revival of World Map Vehicles!

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Enterbrain has announced the newest piece of information about RPG Maker VX. As spoken by Arts Kawashima:

In our previous work, “RPG Maker XP”, we did away with vehicles in order to clear away the notion of a Field.

So, now with “RPG Maker VX”, the vehicle has been revived for the sake of being able to create a field once again. Naturally, as we want you to get a visual idea of the extent of the world, a World Map is the result.

My mind always on work, I was struck from behind by Director M. While I was following along in the conversation, half-listening like always, he apparently thrust the question “Can you say a four-word idiomatic expression?” at me. I responded with “A four-word idiomatic expression.”

New Functions and Changes for RPG Maker VX

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Some of the ‘modifications’ for our expected maker have been revealed. Most of the new changes that we’ve heard of include a change in the window font, a pre-existing dash function, better frame rates, and a ‘Beginner’ function. It’s also been announced that RPG Maker VX comes packing a whole new whollop of resources for developers. I won’t ruin the details; check out the RPG Maker VX Functions page that’s been created.

About the Material of RPG Maker VX

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Today Kawashima has updated the TKool Blog, bringing us some new information regarding RPG Maker VX’s resources! Some of the old has come back to this maker as well as some new stuff been introduced. As most know, RPG Maker VX will be just a slight modification from it’s predecessor, but there will be some changes to the material in which we make our games with.

Minor Tileset Modifications

It was mentioned that the tileset will slightly differ because of the new auto tile feature.

Character Sets Will Have up to 8 Characters

The introduction of RPG Maker XP’s resources was a successful production that offered simple methods for making your RPG more beautiful. However, the characters for RPG Maker VX will bring back the innovative ‘character set’ featuring 8 characters on one file just like RPG Maker 2000 and 2003. The direction is said to differ though.

Facial Expressions of the Characters

Facial expressions are now a new entity in the process of creating your RPG! From the looks of the new screenshot offered on the TKool Blog, it seems as though characters will have the ability to aid in their ability to sociolize by showing different emotion. Below we see the sprite with the red hat expressing shock with an exclamation mark above her head, while her faceset has its mouth open.

Enterbrain’s Official RPG Maker VX Homepage Translated

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

Enterbrain’s official site for the newest maker has been fully translated to English by a colleague and myself. The new specs for the maker are very interesting. It seems as though everyone’s in store for a faster, better looking engine then ever seen before! The new screens are just beautiful and a new development for the RGSS portion of the engine has been recreated to make development easier for newbies and experts alike.
